Many Asian artists have much affection for Tibetan mastiffs and they devote their life to the theme in their artworks
as if they were born for the "holy safeguard". Famous painter Lin Yue is among them.
In the past twenty years, Lin Yue was engaging in researching the Tibetan Mastiff’s
living environment and wide range of feelings and uses them as the lifelong painting subject.
Lin Yue travels throughout the Tibetan settlements of Sichuan, Qinghai and Gansu provinces and
the Tibet autonomous region every year to photograph the people and their dogs.
The artist says he is most captivated by the mastiff's "loyalty to its owner,
strong sense of duty and courage in the face of danger".
Owning one has nurtured a deeper understanding of the creatures, he says.
Lin YUE said he fell in love with the wonderful scenery and the sincere enthusiasm of Tibetans.
Meanwhile, he was often touched by the spirit of loyalty of the Tibetan Mastiffs.
